Top 3 Reasons To Embrace Entrepreneurship

Often times so many people most especially youths misunderstand the term entrepreneurship. I have carried out an interview with a few youths asking them on their take on entrepreneurship, their feedback showed that they were not really interested.

What they are pursuing is just to finish secondary school, go to university, do their youth service, apply for a job and then work in a big company. I have discovered that so many students and graduates are only interested in white-collar jobs.

They think that entrepreneurship is just an inferior and unattractive way of getting money. The truth is, am not against getting a white-collar job, but can we just come back to our senses and stop waiting for job opportunities. In a nutshell, entrepreneurship is setting a business of your own which may involve financial risks.

I have discovered that so many people are only interested in getting a job instead of them being being the CEO. They just want to be get paid instead of them being the person paying.

Sometimes they are being fired from their job instead of them being the one firing others. However, entrepreneurship makes you the CEO of your company or business.

You have the right to control, sack, close or grow your business. One of the things a rich man will always tell you is to go to school, acquire the highest grade you can, develop skills and then turn your skill into a stream of income while a poor man will tell you to go to school and compulsorily make first class and then go and apply for a job. The truth is that you don’t need first-class to be successful.

First-class is not needed in entrepreneurship. What you need is to get as many skills and talents as you can, develop them and then monetize them.
I have taken time to access the rate of unemployment in Nigeria and I discovered that 75 per cent of graduates are unemployed. The truth is that so many youths are idle waiting for the government to provide job for them.

One of the things I promised myself is that even if I work for someone, it's temporary because am not the type that works for people for some time without establishing my own. Even as a young aspiring engineer, I will still build my own engineering company through entrepreneurship.

However, if you want to have your own industry as an engineering or your own hospital as a doctor or your own school as a teacher, start with entrepreneurship with the aim of achieving your profession but do not be carried away by entrepreneurship in such a way that will make you forget what you have learnt from school.
However, coming to the aspect of finance, entrepreneurs passes through some financial risks, but do not panic. These risks can either yield gain or loss. So many people shy away from entrepreneurship because of its financial risks, that’s why they look for jobs that is risk-free. But the truth is that financial risks is just for a short period of time.

One of the things I have learnt from Brian Tracy and Jim Rohn is that “No matter the risk involved, take it, bear it, subdue it and then make passive income”. Abraham Lincoln passed through some risks and failures before he became the US president.as a matter of fact, 80 percent of the richest men in the world started from entrepreneurship.

The likes of Aliko Dangote, William Bill Gates and Warren Buffet that is among the greatest businessmen of today all started through entrepreneurship and they passed through risks and failures.

Finally, Nigeria has reshuffled their academic sector by making entrepreneurial subjects the number one compulsory subjects so as to combat unemployment. Many students should utilize this opportunity and start making passive income than staying idle waiting for employment.

I have heard so many stories whereby a person applied for a job, he was not employed then he killed himself because he has stayed for so many years without a job since he graduated from the university. Its high time we started changing our mentality. Entrepreneurship can give you anything you need in life.

A friend of mine told me that someone traveled to abroad through online business. Then I promised myself never to joke with what I am doing because I know God is is leading me somewhere.
